Job Description:

Knight E/A’s Chicago office is looking for an Architect with exceptional design skills, a portfolio of innovative design solutions and an emphasis on built work. The right candidate will provide support during the development of design and technical systems for projects from schematics through construction administration while working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the project leader in the creation and development of overall design concepts for new buildings as well as repositioning projects
  • Formulate design presentation strategies
  • Provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects
  • Perform design and architectural duties as directed by the project leader
  • Support the project’s documentation process
  • Support the development of building system concepts for projects
  • Support material and product research for projects
  • Attend project meetings when requested
  • Perform other project-related tasks as assigned by the discipline project leader

Candidates must provide work samples AND meet the minimum qualifications to be considered.

 

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture required, advanced degree in Architecture preferred
  • 5-10 years of architecture and design experience with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale
  • Computer skills to include: AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Studio Max
  • Following skills a plus SketchUp, Adobe Suite
  • Desire to develop strong leadership, management and mentoring skills
  • Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience
  • Previous experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills and outstanding graphic presentation skills are required
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction clearly and efficiently
