Job Description:

Knight E/A, Inc. is a multi-disciplined engineering and architectural firm with more than 140 professionals with offices in La Crosse, Wisconsin and our Illinois locations in Chicago, Springfield and Bolingbrook.

Knight’s Chicago office is seeking to employ an experienced Architect to lead projects. The candidate should be innovative and have exceptional design skills with an emphasis on built work. The right candidate will lead a project from schematic design through construction administration while working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to design excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop fees, work with clients and firm’s Architect Leader to develop and negotiate budgets, schedules, and contracts.

  • Enter and maintain project staffing data in Project/Resource Planning.

  • Manage and coordinate workload of team and provide leadership of team activities.

  • Communicate client objectives to team members in a clear and concise way.

  • Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to team members.

  • Identify and share lessons learned with team.

  • Be a proactive resource to project team in their decision making processes and in the development of technically sound and innovative planning and design solutions.

  • Meet with project team members on a regular basis to monitor work in progress and to assure that the firm’s best practice standards and procedures are being implemented.

  • Assure that technical quality of projects is achieved and enforce application of QA/QC process standards and requirements.

  • Ensure appropriate client and internal communication including written project documentation.

  • Play a lead role in key meetings and presentations.

  • Develop and maintain positive client relations.

  • Assist in Design Production of Construction Documentation

Experience and Skills:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Architect(Preferred)

  • LEED AP (Preferred)

  • Bachelors in architecture (Required); Masters (preferred)

  • AutoCad, Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project

  • Minimum 10 years relevant project experience

  • Strong managerial skills, technical skills, creative performance, strong communication, team-work, presentation and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
